LinkedIn: Ryan Webber
Ryan Webber is an NYC-based researcher, engineer, and artist centered on creating platforms, whether through installations or digital and physical experiences, for stories to be told, retold, and archived. Through video sculpture, sound, and programming, his work makes learning both multisensory and cerebral. His projects incorporate fugitive and decentralized knowledge systems and knowledge generation through emergent activity, participation, and experience. Outside his own work, Ryan is also an installation engineer specializing in real-time media and works with artists to create more immersive and engaging experiences. Ryan was the lead curator of the Future Legends exhibition at the Clive Davis gallery, and his work has been showcased at the New York Transit Museum, the Dumbo Outdoor Projection Project, and New York University's Biannual Interactive Showcase.
Ryan is currently pursuing his Master's in Interactive Technology at New York University's ITP program. Previously, Ryan was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley within Wealth Management Data Security and has held software engineering, application security engineering, and product ownership roles over his career. He received his B.S. in Computer Science with honors from Stony Brook University.
Ryan's ongoing projects include developing a local archive of Jamaican visual art and music history using Collective Access, creating a video-sculpture piece retelling the history of Black learning spaces, and making soundscapes for audio-reactive visuals.
