About SubWave

SubWave uses the sound and waterfront ecology of DUMBO to re-present the East River’s shoreline. Audio-reactive waves triggered by passing subway trains flow past hand-pulled relief prints of the East River’s natural inhabitants: osprey, striped bass, bluefish, and oyster. As each train passes, the wave rises and recedes, surfacing the estuary beneath the city.

I served as the Tocuhdesigner technician and created the particle system to simulate water and syncing the waves to the sound of incoming trains.
